Happy Save Mono Lake Day! Today we're celebrating 30 years of Mono Lake's protection. On September 28, 1994 the California State Water Resources Control Board amended the City of Los Angeles' water licenses to require that Mono Lake be protected at the healthy level of 6,392 feet above sea level. With 8.6 feet of water still needed to reach that goal, we're working to get another hearing scheduled with the State Water Board so Mono Lake can get the water it deserves. #keepsavingmonolake 📷 courtesy of George Ward

Tomorrow marks 30 years since the State Water Boar

Tomorrow marks 30 years since the State Water Board issued Decision 1631, the decision to save Mono Lake! It's a moment to celebrate—the decision protected Mono Lake by setting a management level to protect the public trust and make sure the lake is healthy. However, Mono Lake is still 8.6 feet below that required level, so this anniversary is also a reminder to keep fighting for the water the lake deserves. #keepsavingmonolake
