Wild & Scenic Film Festival–Los Angeles just a week away

This post was written by Carolyn Weddle, 2012 Project Specialist.

In just one week the Mono Lake Committee will be hosting the first ever Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Los Angeles!

Wild & Scenic Film Festival Los Angeles
When: Thursday, March 8, 2012
Where: The Landmark Theater in West Los Angeles
Time: 7:00–10:00pm
Website: monolake.org/wildandscenic
Tickets: $15/full price ticket, $12/student ticket with valid student ID, or the Mono Lake Committee member-deal which is 2 tickets for $25

We are thrilled to be hosting this event because it will not only showcase a selection of great films, but it will also be the LA premiere of our brand new film—The Mono Lake Story. We have seven exciting environmental and adventure films lined up for the evening which include themes of kayaking, climbing, surfing, dramatic dam tear-downs, artistic animation, dramatic photography, suspense, humor, passion, beat poetry, international adventure, and of course, stories of hope and inspiration.

We are doubly excited because The Mono Lake Story was recently accepted into the Colorado Environmental Film Festival, the Newport Beach Film Festival, Reel Earth Environmental Film Festival in New Zealand Sedona Film Festival, and the Sun Valley Film Festival in Idaho! On top of this, it was awarded Director’s Choice for Best Documentary Short in Sedona.

Have you purchased your tickets yet? We promise this will be an evening you won’t want to miss! Check us out on Facebook and Twitter, we’l be announcing the films and doing fun event updates frequently until the big day!
