Giving Tuesday donations doubled up to $75,000

This Giving Tuesday at Mono Lake comes with a special opportunity: All gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, until we reach $75,000.

Thanks to the generosity of more than 500 people, we reached our goal of raising $75,000 for Giving Tuesday, which was matched for a total of more than $150,000 raised for Mono Lake!

Thanks to our friend Joan, a longtime member, has challenged us all with a very generous match. She has given this match—the largest match we’ve ever had—hoping to inspire people like you to give an extra gift.

The match means every donation goes twice as far, which is critically important as we advocate for Mono Lake before the State Water Board, with DWP and City leadership in Los Angeles, and locally in the Eastern Sierra. DWP’s water diversions threaten all aspects of Mono Lake’s health—it’s past time to let the lake rise to the healthy level mandated by the State Water Board.
