Event Series Event Series: Mono Lake South Tufa Tour

Join a naturalist-guide for a sunset walk among limestone tufa towers, bubbling springs, birds, wildlife, brine shrimp, and the behind-the-scenes story of the most unusual lake in California. This guided, one-hour walk includes hands-on activities, and an overview of the human and natural history of Mono Lake appropriate for all age levels. Advance reservations are required.

Date: Every day at 6:00pm through Labor Day.

Price: Tours are free, but there is a $3 per person entrance fee to the South Tufa Area. Reservations are required.

COVID-19 protocols:

  • Masks are not mandatory for fully vaccinated participants, but we do request that unvaccinated participants wear a mask due to social distancing restraints throughout the tour.
  • All guides are fully vaccinated.
  • Currently tours are limited to 15 participants. If there is no availability on your desired tour day, we have a free self-guided audio tour at monolakemobile.org.
