Gathering prizes for the 2012 Free Drawing

This post was written by Carolyn Weddle, 2012 Project Specialist.

It’s that time of year again—time to start gathering prizes for the 2012 Free Drawing—one of the Mono Lake Committee’s largest fundraisers. Thanks to the overwhelming support from our members and visitors, last year’s Free Drawing was a huge success!

This year I have been diligently working on gathering a collection of fabulous prizes for the 2012 Free Drawing. The prize list for this fundraiser will go out through the mail as well as in our Information Center & Bookstore. Exactly how many people will it reach? The answer: over 100,000 people will  have the chance win a prize!

This is where we could use your help: do you have an exciting prize you would like to donate for this year’s fundraiser? Need a little inspiration? Take a look at last year’s prize list for ideas. Can you or your company/organization donate a Kindle, computer, flat-screen TV, airline tickets, or other services to this year’s Free Drawing? If you would like to donate an item or service, you can reach me at (760) 647-6595.

  1. I have been visiting Mono since 1985 and have a lot of black and white photographs done with a 4×5 camera. I’d like to think that they match up with what is out there very well. I would be glad to contribute one up to 16 x 20 that would be archivally printed and matted. Let me know if you would be interested. How has your weather been? Is it as crazy as our weather here in the east? Hope you get some snow or rain. Everytime I check the webcam it looks like summer!
