Los Angeles has best water conservation efforts of Southern California cities

The Sierra Club recently released a scorecard comparing the water conservation efforts of cities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The City of Los Angeles was the only city to meet all 19 criteria and receive a perfect score!

The criteria included restricted use measures, residential water efficiency measures, commercial water efficiency measures, efficient landscape irrigation, efficient commercial and industrial processes, and efficient municipal best practices.

Thanks to the efforts of the Mono Lake Committee and partners in the city, Los Angeles continues to lead the way to sustainable water use, which reduces the need for imported water from places like Mono Lake.
