Now hiring: Information Center & Bookstore Assistants

Come join our awesome team in the Eastern Sierra’s beautiful Mono Basin! We are seeking two people who are excited to spend a season learning about the ecological, cultural, and historical significance of Mono Lake and sharing its importance with many thousands of visitors. Working in the Information Center & Bookstore is a neat way to share Mono Lake’s story and see the collaboration between our non-profit and other agencies and organizations.

This is an especially exciting year to be here as we are on the cusp of an important and historic State Water Board hearing about Mono Lake’s health. If you are passionate about teaching water conservation and environmental matters, connecting with people and having them join our mission, and want to serve on the forefront of grassroots environmental work, then this job is for you.

This position is ideal for someone with an inviting personality, a desire to teach about environmental matters in an indoor setting, and who enjoys interacting with visitors and helping them plan adventures to enjoy the beauty of this area.

Information Center & Bookstore Assistants are truly the face of the Mono Lake Committee and all that it stands for. We are seeking kind, self-motivated, curious, and hardworking staff who will represent our organization well and help gain new members to be a part of our work on behalf of Mono Lake. And in your free time, you will find plenty of mountains to hike, plenty of salt water to swim in, and plenty of migratory birds to admire.
