Holiday shopping: Highlight Mono Lake with your gifts

This post was written by Barbara Ball, 2014 Information Center & Bookstore Manager.

The Mono Lake Committee is a non-profit citizens group with over 16,000 members. Wow! We couldn’t do what we do without you. But crucial to our mission is also getting the word out about Mono Lake to people who aren’t yet informed. These people learn about Mono Lake and the work of the Committee in large part from from friends and family who support us.

Now that the holiday season is here, you have a wonderful opportunity to both buy gifts for friends and loved ones, as well as to get the word out about the Mono Lake Committee. A gift with the Mono Lake Committee logo on it, or one that highlights Mono Lake, will handily accomplish both of these goals.

For instance, co-workers, friends and distant relatives will be thrilled with a gift of the Mono Lake Calendar. And Aunt Roberta might just love a Mono Lake Committee bucket hat. Also, a brine shrimp ornament or Mono Lake patch are one-of-a-kind gifts and great conversation starters to talk about Mono Lake, its unique ecosystem, its preservation, and the work of the Mono Lake Committee.

Happy holidays, long live Mono Lake, and thank you in advance for your support!
