Announcing Mono Lake Guided Trips

We are excited to share our new Guided Trips program—a new way to visit the Mono Basin and the Eastern Sierra with an experienced guide to get the most out of this incredible place and fall in love with the region like we have, while also supporting Mono Lake.

Our new program has over 45 day-trips scheduled from May to October, ranging in focus from birds to volcanoes and everything in between. Walk with us and learn to identify wildflowers, butterflies, birds, and mammals. Transport your mind into the past while we visit historical Paiute, mining, and logging sites. Slip into the lake in a canoe as the full moon rises—serenity is waiting.

We also offer custom guided trips for an even more personalized visit. We will work with you to design your perfect day (or days) of exploration, learning, and relaxation. Together, our diverse staff has over 150 years of experience in the region birding, canoeing, hiking, watching wildlife, identifying wildflowers, finding the best fall colors, and much more. We are confident that we can help you get the most out of your visit.

Many visitors come to Mono Lake with only a day or two to spend exploring and absorbing the majesty of this place. The Mono Basin has so much to offer—it takes years to fully get to know it. The Committee and State Parks offer interpretive walks of South Tufa and Panum Crater, as well as public bird walks at County Park, but imagine getting to take a deeper look at the wildflowers or go birding in new and exciting locations with a knowledgeable guide!

When you register for a scheduled trip or arrange for a custom trip, your dollars go directly to supporting our mission to protect, restore, and educate the public about Mono Lake. Together we can make a difference, and have fun while we’re at it!
