Have you renewed your Mono Lake Committee membership?

After four months of leading interpretive tours at Mono Lake and helping visitors in the Information Center & Bookstore last summer, my winter work has shifted to office projects. One of the most important projects I have is to reconnect with Mono Lake Committee members who we haven’t heard from in a while by renewing their membership and updating their information.

Which may be the reason you’ve received a call, email, or letter from me … and if you haven’t yet, you may in the future.

By taking time to personally contact and reconnect with our members, I hope to remind people of Mono Lake and the Mono Lake Committee once again. These are uncharted waters for both the Committee and me—doing a project that has never been done before. It is a task that has proved to be challenging, but rewarding. I like to think that my contacting members is similar to receiving correspondence from someone you haven’t heard from in a while, but have a fond place in your heart for. It can be difficult for members to find time to visit Mono Lake—years can go by without a visit to the lake which can eventually result in a disconnect. I want to remind past members of what they’ve been missing so they can reconnect with this amazing place.

How can people reconnect with Mono Lake and the Committee from a far-off or remote location? By simply renewing your membership you can gain access to webcam views of the lake and receive Newsletters with current information about Mono Lake and the Mono Lake Committee’s progress toward protection, restoration, and education efforts in the Mono Basin. Member support sustains our efforts—we couldn’t do the work we do without you. You can renew your membership over the phone, right here on our website, or by responding to a letter you might have received from me. Any way you do it, renewing your membership helps support the Mono Lake Committee’s efforts and reconnects you with the lake you love!
