Thank you to everyone who has supported the Mono Lake Committee while shopping on Amazon this year—our annual goal is in sight!

We’re less than $700 away from reaching our target of $4,500 raised through the Amazon Associate program. This program donates 5% of purchases made using this link back to the Mono Lake Committee—so to meet our goal we’ll have to collectively spend $14,000 by the end of 2016. That might sound like a lot, but if each of our 16,000 amazing members spends just $1 on their remaining holiday shopping through Amazon we will exceed our goal!

Bookmark this link to use when you shop on Amazon, and you can support our work to protect, restore, and educate about Mono Lake at no additional cost to you. Happy holidays!

Although there are fewer people traveling through Lee Vining during this time of year, the Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore will remain open 9:00am–5:00pm seven days a week. However, we will have several temporary closures during the holiday season.

We’ll be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 24 and Christmas Day, December 25. On November 30 we’ll be closed for the Mono Lake Committee’s annual staff working retreat. We will reopen with normal hours (9:00am–5:00pm) on Thursday, December 1.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope we get a chance to see you during your visit to the Mono Basin!

The holiday season is fast approaching, and many of us are beginning to think about choosing the perfect gifts for our friends and family. While the Mono Lake Committee online store and fall catalog (located in the fall Newsletter) offer many great gift options that support Mono Lake, it’s unlikely we’ll have something for everyone on your list. But don’t fret, you can still help Mono Lake while shopping on Amazon! It’s super easy to make sure your online shopping gives back to the Mono Lake Committee—all you have to do is follow this link when you shop.

For every purchase made on Amazon using this link 5% is donated to the Mono Lake Committee through the Amazon Associate program, and that 5% really ads up. (Yes, it’s really 5%, not 0.5%, like most non-profits get!) Last year we made a record breaking $4,100, and we’re hoping to make 2016 another chart-topping year.

So far this year we’ve raised $2,682 dollars through Amazon, and we have a goal of reaching $4,500 before 2016 concludes—so we’re going to need your help. Next time you take to the web to do some shopping over the holidays, or any time of year, be sure to follow  this link so that your purchases will benefit Mono Lake.

Thanks for all of your support, and happy shopping!
